Week 3: Favorite Quote

“Today I will do what others won’t, so tomorrow I can accomplish what others can’t.”- Jerry Rice.

This is my favorite quote said by Jerry Rice famous Hall of Fame wide receiver. Jerry Rice was a person that would not step off the gas and would never give up. He would make sure he was the best and was near perfect. Jerry Rice was so committed to working hard everyday that when his team would go out and have fun he would run up a hill and trail that was 2 miles long. When Jerry was young he would help his dad with construction (that is what he did for a living) by catching and throwing bricks to his father from one or two stories high, that is where he said he developed his hands. After drafted by the San Francisco 49ers, Jerry had to exceed expectations to earn a starting job which he did by working everyday as hard as he can.

This quote by Jerry Rice means a lot to me like, to never give up and never stop working your hardest. I believe in this because if want to accomplish something the only way to is by working harder than others. When I am on the football field I always think of this quote when I fell like giving out on myself and after I know that the only way to improve is by doing more than others can. Also when I am in the classroom I sometimes think of this. For example if I am struggling on homework and I just want to give up on it I Think of it and remember to never give up or else you won’t improve. This quote is my favorite quote because of all of the benefites it gives to me.

Well done, Bryce. I appreciate learning more about Jerry Rice. The anecdote about him helping his father with construction is particularly interesting, and it gives insight into the man’s life story. Thanks for taking the time to share what you have learned about him.

Your work ethic is one of many things that your teachers respect about your performance in seventh grade. You are an example to your friends as an athlete, a student, and a person :- ) Keep up the good effort!
